Established San Antonio podiatrists Dr. David Hughes and Dr. Jessica Rutstein have joined the Foot & Ankle Institute at The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group, effective September 1st, 2014. They will treat a wide variety of foot conditions, from ingrown toenails and heel pain to bunions and foot fractures for patients aged 2 years and older.

What Is A Podiatrist?

A podiatrist, or doctor of podiatric medicine (D.P.M.), is a specialist in the medical and surgical care of conditions of the foot. At The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group, our podiatrists are board certified in their fields and have all gone through 4 years of podiatric medical school and 3 years of residency training.

Dr. David Hughes is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, which has been recently renamed the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). What does this mean?

Dr. Jessica Rutstein is board certified in primary care in podiatric medicine by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry (ABMSP). What does this mean?
